By now, friends, you know that I love to play with food. It’s where I get my nerd out. Look, some people collect vinyl figurines, others play fantasy sci-fi games, but me? I cook and bake. Halloween is especially fun because there are no limitations or rules. Anything goes during the season of ghosts and ghouls. And while I love playing with food, I’m also a busy work from home wife and mom who often doesn’t have time to do all I’d like to do, so when I see a fun recipe or easy Halloween treat that lets me play with food while also saving some time, I’m all over it.

I originally saw these Nutter Butter Boos over at HomeMadeInterest.com and knew I had to make them for my own kiddos. This is a simple recipe and one I can whip up in less than an hour for my kiddos to enjoy after an October afternoon of playing outside. I was inspired by her ghosts and decided to create these Nutty Mummies.

To start, I laid out some parchment paper on my counter and placed peanut butter cookies in rows on top.

I melted some white chocolate in dish.

Then I used a spoon and drizzled the chocolate over peanut butter cookies in a back and forth motion to create mummy tape.

Before the chocolate could dry, I added a couple of sprinkle eyeballs (these candy eyes would be amazing) to bring my mummies to life, MWAHAH, MWAHAH, MWAHAHAHAHAH!

Once the chocolate dries, the mummies can easily be packaged up for classroom Halloween treats, an office party, or just to display until you’re ready to devour the delicious little demons. They taste as just as good as they look. White chocolate and peanut butter are a decadently delicious combination!
